'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Liverpool Friendly Today

The Seasiders face Liverpool in a behind closed doors friendly this afternoon.

The game won't be against the full Reds team - who are touring abroad - but gives the squad a chance to play another fixture after their early exit from the South West Challenge Cup.

Manager Ian Holloway is looking forward to working on the splendid surfaces at the Melwood training complex.

'It's a fantastic game for us at this stage of our pre-season.

'I am very appreciative that Liverpool were willing to play us. It's at their training ground, so we can guarantee fantastic facilities,'
said the gaffer.

There is also the possibility that the club will be looking at youngsters in the Liverpool line up whom they could perhaps take on loan next season.
