Holloway To Ask Belokon For More Funds

Ian Holloway will next week jet off to Latvia to meet with club president Valeri Belokon, with the sole purpose of his visit being to try and get Mr Belokon to pump more money into the club for him to spend on players, in particular Charlie Adam.

Holloway yesterday admitted that the Rangers midfielder's wages were not a problem, but it is understood that the sticking point is that transfer fee, with Blackpool chairman Karl Oyston unprepared to match Rangers value of £500,000 for the player.

Indeed, Vital Blackpool understands that Oyston has tightened the purse strings quite substantially after the overspending at the club last season, leaving Holloway to work the charm offensive on Mr Belokon. Nevertheless, Oyston will join Holloway in Latvia next week.

'If I can convince Mr Belokon we are moving forward and we need his help, then great but we'll wait and see what he thinks,' said Holloway.

Fingers crossed Ollie gets the answer we all want!
