Ormerod Signs On

As has been speculated for a few weeks, Brett Ormerod has signed a new contract at Blackpool.

His previous deal was due to run out next Wednesday when the players are expected back for pre season training.

But the striker has penned to The Seasiders for one more year, with the club having the option of extending that by another.

Ormerod provided different options for Tony Parkes at the back end of last season after his move from rivals Preston North End, scoring two crucial goals whilst up front.

But he also held down a spot on the right hand side of midfield where he surprised some with his pace and decent delivery into the box.

Manager Ian Holloway has said he's delighted that the 32-year-old has signed.

'I'm delighted that Brett has signed again. He is one of the most hardworking players I've ever come across.

'Everyone I have spoken to has nothing but praise for him and I can't wait to work with him.'
