No 'Pool Move For Oldham's Smalley
Blackpool have recently been linked with Oldham Athletic's Deane Smalley, but Latics boss Dave Penny has quashed any thought of the player leaving Boundary Park.
The winger, who can play up front, has made upwards of 70 appearances for the club, scoring seven goals.
Last year was the 20-year-old's breakthrough season, and he kept old campaigner Andy Liddell out of the side for long periods.
Rumours have been circulating throughout the close season about a move for Smalley to Bloomfield Road, but Penny is quick to say that his player is going nowhere, yet.
'There's been all sorts of speculation recently, but if something has happened I certainly don't know about it,' said the gaffer.
Other wide midfielder Chris Taylor has also been linked with a move away from the club, with Leeds United keen on him. It was known that Simon Grayson was an admirer of his last summer, but a move to 'Pool didn't materialise.
However, Oldham have held a strict party line, and the manager said: 'We are not looking to sell any players and that's it as far as I'm concerned.'
