'Pool's Pre Season Fixtures Announced

Blackpool pre season is now taking shape as the club have today announced first team friendlies, starting July 11.

The Seasiders will travel to Burscough in early July a day before they take part in the 'Errea South West Challenge Cup'.

The competition - which is made up of lower league opposition - runs for a week in Devon. The teams taking part are recently relegated Luton Town, along with Yeovil Town, Grimbsy Town and two of the four promoted clubs from League Two - Wycombe and Exeter City.

It is likely that 'Pool will take a second string eleven to Burscough the day before the Challenge Cup.

The following Saturday (July 25) Ian Holloway's side travel to Spotland to face Rochdale, before playing away at Carlisle United three days later in a friendly already confirmed.

Finally, there will be no big pre season friendly at Bloomfield Road this campaign - largely down to the fact the South Stand won't be ready - and the final game will be at Boundary Park against Oldham Athletic on the first day in August, which is a Saturday.

Fixtures in full:
Burscough (a) July 11. 3pm
SW Challenge Cup - July 12 - 19
Rochdale (a) July 26. 3pm
Carlisle United (a) July 28. 7.45pm
Oldham Athletic (a) August 1. 3pm.
