'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Holloway Hunts For Attacking Formula

New Blackpool boss Ian Holloway wants his team to go out and express themselves in The Championship next season.

Upon talking to club secretary Matt Williams on the official site, Holloway said: 'I want to play an attacking brand of football,

'I want to try and bring some new ideas for the boys to buy into.'

In an incredibly upbeat interview, the former QPR boss spoke of the Blackpool way of playing football.

'You've always had a reputation for playing that type of football, when you go all the way back to Steve McMahon.

'So I've got a lot of affinity with this football club and I'm very fortunate that I've got a chance to mould how it does in the future.

'Watch this space.'

Speaking to the Blackpool Gazette, the gaffer spoke about the players taking responsiblity on the pitch - something you don't hear too often in modern football.

"If you worked for me, you'd know what I'm about. Its about being part of a team, which is much more important than you, and you pulling your weight. And you never giving up. That's what it's about," said the 46-year-old, who is obviously relishing management again.

Overall, his first day as manager at Bloomfield Road has been a very positive one, and long may this continue.

Welcome to Blackpool, Ollie!
