Barker A Championship Wanted Man

Blackpool club captain Shaun Barker has been attracting interest from clubs across The Championship, according to reports.

The 26-year-old has been a revelation for The Seasiders since his move to centre back halfway through the campaign.

And this up turn in form has seen scouts from Derby County continuingly watch Barker's performances for 'Pool in the latter part of the season.

SkySports reported yesterday that both Derby and fierce rivals Nottingham Forest were after 'Reggie', with the former Rotherham man having just one year on his current deal at Bloomfield Road.

They also threw Leeds United's name into the ring, but whether Blackpool would be willing to sell to Simon Grayson (or Ken Bates for that matter) remains to be seen and that is likely to be a trivial link to the Elland Road club.

Let's hope the club hold onto their best players this summer, unlike last where they lost Wes Hoolahan and Kaspars Gorkss - getting Daniel Nardiello, Matt Gilks and Zesh Rehman in return.

I did warn you about Zesh and Dan! - Kaspars has really been superb since whoever picks the team came to his senses and started picking him. What a rock.
