Mahon Could Stay at 'Pool?

Blackpool caretaker boss Tony Parkes has indicated that he may wish to keep on-loan Alan Mahon at Bloomfield Road beyond his temporary spell.

The Burnley midfielder has had a tough time of it at the seaside so far since his move in March - making just one appearance for the club due to injury he sustained on debut.

But Parkes has put that ankle injury down to bad luck, and says that the club will be keeping tabs on him in the summer.

'What has happened with Alan is unfortunate because I think he would have done a job for us,' said the boss.

'But Alan may be one we look to keep, if he gets himself fit.

'Hopefully he'll get himself fully fit and be raring to go for next season.'

Signing the former Ireland international would look like a shrewd bit of business by The Seasiders, and would give them a wealth of options down the left hand side with David Vaughan and Joe Martin already vying for the left midfielders spot.

The gamble will be on whether Mahon is able to get himself fit for a sustained period of time after starting just 23 league games for The Clarets in his three years at the club. So, going by those stats, it's pretty much nailed on that Alan will be joining the club this summer!
