'Pool Swoop for Adebola Unlikely?

Reports this morning are linking Bristol City striker Dele Adebola with a move to Blackpool, but it remains unlikely that he'll be playing in tangerine next season.

The frontman, who has notched ten goals for The Robins this season, is out of contract at Ashton Gate and looks set to leave the club.

City manager Gary Johnson said yesterday that he'd offered the Nigerian a new one year deal: 'He plays his cards close to his chest but we offered a year and he said he could get somewhere else for two. We'll work very hard to find a striker to take his place if that's the case.'

It looks like they are resigned to losing their target man, but whether he'll be joining up with The Seasiders next season is up for huge debate.

Championship heavyweights QPR are being heavily linked with him, as are Nottingham Forest, Sheffield United and their close neighbours Sheffield Wednesday; can we really compete with the monetary offers from these clubs?

What does work in Tony Parkes' favour however is that Adebola was close to agreeing a deal at Bloomfield Road in January, but whether or not the club are willing to commit to a two year deal, on presumably handsome wages, for a 34-year-old is questionable.
