Youngster Goes Out on Loan

Youngster Goes Out on Loan

Danny Mitchley has joined Conference North side Southport on loan until the end of the season.

The 19-year-old, who made his Blackpool debut in the draw at home to Crystal Palace last year, will no doubt welcome the prospect of regular football after an injury-hit campaign.

Danny notched an impressive 35 goals in the reserve and youth teams last season, which led to many 'Pool fans believing that this term he could really stamp his mark on The Seasiders.

But unfortunately for him, injuries have taken their toll on the striker, and with the loan signing of Lee Hughes yesterday, it would be unlikely that Tony Parkes will require his services.

Given Parkes' record at blooding young Blackpool talent (ignoring the youth he's borrowed from the Premiership) it seems that a stint in the Blackpool team could be a long way off for Mitchley - especially if the caretaker boss lands the job on a permanent basis.
