'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Same as Norwich, Please!

'Pool favourite Shaun Barker has called upon supporters to back the team to the hilt - just as they did last week against Norwich City.

The defender, who recently stormed out of a bad run of form which coincided with his move to centre back, said 'against Norwich they really got behind us and became the 12th man. As soon as they do get really behind us you can literally see the confidence it gives the lads. They made a huge difference against Norwich and I thought they were brilliant against Burnley as well, when we were unlucky not to get anything.'

Despite a poor run of results at Bloomfield Road all season, the vice captain stated that previous results didn't matter, and it's all about the run in at the end of the campaign: 'We need them to continue completely backing us until the end of the season to make sure we get those points we need because they are terrific when they get behind us and that spurs us on.'

Speaking about defeats, Barker said he was slightly disappointed at fans' reaction to home losses: 'We got booed off against Watford a couple of months ago and it was disappointing for me and a few of the lads, because one thing we do every time we pull on the Tangerine shirt is give 110 per cent.'

But the 26-year-old did admit to the side not being at it's best this season, saying 'that's understandable because our home form hasn't been as good as it should have been this season.

'But hopefully that win against Norwich and our improved form over the last week or so in general will give us the confidence we need, starting with Southampton on Saturday.'
