Seasiders' staying up?

Most Blackpool fans are used to sitting on the edge of their seats. It's been another rollercoaster of a season and with just nine games to go the finger nails are sure to be chewed well in the coming weeks.

Voting in our latest poll has fluctuated dramtically during the last few days. We asked you whether you thought Blackpool can survive this season. Before the Norwich game the pessimists were leading the way. But what a difference a game makes. A good performance and three points later and now 52 per cent of fans think Pool will stay up.

Saturday's win was crucial. Not only was it three more precious points, it was also an increasingly confident, assured performance against a team scrapping for survival with ourselves. But there was only one team in the game on Saturday. That bodes well for the remaining nine matches of the season.

But no doubt there will be twists and turns along the way. Southampton, Plymouth and Nottingham Forest all visit Bloomfield Road in the run-in so surely our fate lies in how we perform at the seaside.

Of more immediate concern are the two away games facing Blackpool this week. Sheffield United are gunning for the play-offs while Barnsley are another team fighting to stay up. We generally raise our game against the better teams and our away form this year has been very good. We can also take encouragement from Doncaster's recent win at Brammall lane. Our record at Oakwell however is awful. But we're due a result there and although th Tykes have three games in hand on us, they could be nervous given their precarious position just above the relegation zone.

So are we staying up? Definitely, maybe, hopefully... yes, just.

I'm not so sure looking at your fixtures but more performances like the last match and maybe you can make it.
