Time To Go?

Rumours last night were suggesting that Tony Parkes has resigned as caretaker manager and that a press conference had been called at Bloomfield Road for 11am.

Parkes hasn't enjoyed the best run of results since becoming caretaker manager in the wake of Simon Grayson's departure, and the 2-0 home defeat against Watford coupled with his apparent personal problems may have led the experienced coach to end his tenure at the club.

If Parkes has decided to leave, then Karl Oyston will be tasked with appointing someone capable of pulling the 'Pool away from the drop zone. Assistant Steve Thompson's name has been mentioned, as have the likes of Stockport manager Jim Gannon and Falkirk manager John Hughes.

Even if Parkes hasn't handed in his resignation, many would argue that it is still time for Oyston to act: that's it's time for Parkes to go, that it's time for change.

If there is any breaking news in the coming hours, Blackpool Vital will, as always, bring it to you.
