Paper Talk; Palace Looking To Offload To 'Pool

Crystal Palace manager Neil Warnock is looking to offload three of his first team squad - with at least one ending up in Blackpool, the South London Press reports.

Carl Fletcher, Shefki Kuqi and James Scowcroft are all out of contrract in the summer and The Eagles are seeking to let the trio out on loan - with Plymouth Argyle and Blackpool the only destinations mentioned.

It's one of the transfer windows worst kept secrets that The Seasiders were chasing Scowcroft to solve problems up front, but the big man turned down a switch because of wages.

Although a move for Scowcroft looks unlikely, the striking problem still exists at Bloomfield Road, and now Palace are set to offer Tony Parkes Finnish forward Shefki Kuqi on loan for a presumed three months - which would take us until the end of the season.

The 32-year-old hasn't been in the North West since 2005 when he scored seven goals in 34 games for Blackburn Rovers, and since then has done reasonably well at Selhurst Park. 'Pool aren't the only club likely to be offered a loan deal, with Plymouth being the other mentioned.

And The Pilgrims are also in for defensive midfielder Carl Fletcher, who is also set to leave the capital sooner rather than later. The holding player, who has seen his slot as both midfielder and captain taken by Shaun Derry, turned down a move to Home Park in the summer, but they could renew their interest in a player who has skippered his country.

Judging by 'Pool's recent performances, moves for both Kuqi and Fletcher wouldn't be a bad idea - made even more glaring in the week with the pairing of Claus Jorgensen and David Fox in midfield. Fletcher would be the man to plug caps in the 'Pool midfield and ease stress on the back four.
