On the pitch
One step forward two steps back...
After last week's win at Crystal Palace Blackpool slipped to another home defeat, 3-2 against Doncaster yesterday. David Vaughan marked his best performance in a Tangerine shirt with the opening goal. DJ Cambpell scored for the fourth time in five starts to draw the game level at 2-2 early in the second half only for more defensive lapses to allow Donny to score again. Debututant Charlie Adam was later sent off for allegedly stamping on Pool old boy Richie Wellens.

Meanwhile Blackpool bowed out of the Lancashire Senior Cup after going down 2-0 at Blackburn on Wednesday. On the positive side Jermaine Wright came through another 90 minutes of action as he bids to return to the first team squad following a lengthy injury lay-off.

Off the pitch
Last Monday was transfer deadline day and it was another busy one at Bloomfield Road. In came young midfielder Francesco Carratta on a contract until the end of the season. And just before the deadline Charlie Adam signed on loan from Rangers to add more quality to the midfield. Adam made an encouraging debut in midfield yesterday before he was sent off.
Left back Ian Harte was allowed to leave the club after making five appearances for us.

Elsewhere, David Vaughan earned a call-up to the Wales squad for next Wednesday`s friendly against Poland.

Fixture changes
Blackpool`s match at Derby has been re-arranged again. This time we are expecting the game to take place on Wednesday 18 February at 7.45pm, fingers crossed!

Blackpool`s final home match of the season against Nottingham Forest has been brought forward to a 12.30pm kick off on Saturday 25 April.

Best thread on the forum
Alerting us to the availability of the former Reading winger Bobby Convey suddenly sparked a wider debate about who Pool need, if anyone. Personally, I think he is a very good player and I would welcome him to Bloomfield Road, but it`s unlikely to happen as I would expect bigger Championship clubs or foreign clubs to be interested in his services.

I'm sure like me you're still fuming about yesterday's defeat. A golden chance to move well clear of the relegation dogfight was missed. What if David Fox had buried that first half sitter? What if the referee wasn't conned by Richie Wellens' play acting? Alas we must move on. And we must cut out the individual errors all over the pitch that continually cost us points. A Valentines day trip to Ipswich awaits.
