Broomes Eyes Crewe Alex Stay

Marlon Broomes has stated that he'd be happy to extend his stay at League One strugglers Crewe Alexandra.

His initial loan spell at Gresty Road is just a month, but the central defender is open to a longer period of time.

The 31-year-old who played just one game for The Seasiders, told BBC Radio Stoke: 'I just want to play as many games as I can having had a torrid time with injuries. Then I'll see what happens.'

Broomes made his Crewe debut on Tuesday night and played the full 90 minutes in the 4-2 defeat at Peterborough.

He also spoke about staying injury free, and is looking to strike up a partnership with Trinidad and Tobago international Dennis Lawrence at the heart of the Alex defence.
