'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Brum's Nafti Stance Could Alert Blackpool

Birmingham City have publicly stated they expect midfielder Mehdi Nafti to leave the club in the January transfer window, which could alert Championship clubs, including Blackpool.

The Tunisian, who has played 30 times for his country, has played just 12 games for The Blues so far this campaign, and with nine players able to play in his position, he looks set for the exit door.

And with Nafti's contract being up in the summer, only a nominal fee would be required to secure his services.

Talking to the press, Blues gaffer Alex McLeish has said 'I've spoken to Mehdi and his advisors and there may be something happening.'

That now looks increasingly more likely, with City fielding just six substitutes in their cup defeat to Wolves last night, despite Nafti being fit and able to play.

No doubt plenty of Championship clubs will be vying for his signature, but if 'Pool are to stay in this division, they need a quick fix for their problems in the middle of midfield, and Nafti would be the perfect solution.

Expect a transfer involving the former Racing Santander player to be done late on in the transfer window though, with the volume of clubs in for him will probably be quite large.
