On the pitch:
Blackpool's game against Birmingham, like many more across the country, was frozen off. It's the first time for three years that a home game has been postponed because of the weather.
The match could be rearranged for Saturday 24 January if Birmingham fail to beat Wolves in the FA Cup next week as both sides would have a free weekend.
If that isn't the case it will be another Tuesday night game, probably in February.

Off the pitch:
The Seasiders continue to be linked with a host of names for the Bloomfield Road hot seat. Stockport`s Jim Gannon, John Hughes of Falkirk and even ex- Blackburn rover Garry Flitcroft have been mentioned during the past seven days as potential new managers.
However, it seems Karl Oyston has chosen to stick with Tony Parkes and Steve Thompson for the time being.

Meanwhile, Stephen Crainey is edging closer to a first team comeback but the opportunity to gain valuable minutes on the pitch was lost when the reserves game against Morecambe at Fleetwood was postponed on Wednesday due to a frozen pitch.

Alan Gow`s move to Wolves was cancelled when the Scot failed a medical at Molineux. Gow, who scored five goals during his loan stint at the seaside, could potentially return to Bloomfield Road as Rangers are keen to offload him.

Tony Parkes was busy in the transfer market on Thursday and Friday, signing stikers DJ Campbell and Roy O'Donovan on loan until May. Middlesborough winger Graeme Owens has also joined the club on loan for a month.

'Good thing or Bad thing' posted by reedo90in relation to today's postponement consigning us to an afternoon of Jeff Stelling and co. The issue of undersoil heating was mentioned - sadly I can't see the finances being in place for us to afford things like that!

What a strange start to the new year. A humiliating cup defeat, a manager and asistant who don't know whether they are staying or going and a home game frozen off! All of which means we must wait until next Saturday for the chance tp pick up some priceless league points at Coventry.
