Blackpool Interview Falkirk's Hughes?

It is rumoured thatFalkirk boss John Hughes has had a formal interview with Blackpool today about the vacant manager's post.

'Yogi' is regarded as one of the brightest young managers in Britain, and has been gaffer at the wonderfully named 'Falkirk Stadium' for five years.

It is thought that his great friend and former co-manager at Falkirk, Owen Coyle, wrote the reference sent to Blackpool.

Hughes, who turned 44 in September, has performed miracles at the club - promoting them in 2005 from the First Division as Champions, whilst winning the Scottish Challenge Cup in the same year.

He has also guided The Bairns to two CIS cup semi finals in three years and they play Rangers later this month for a place in the final.

There won't be any problems with Hughes settling in at Blackpool, and not least because of his big character, because Falkirk's ground has only three sides as well!

Speculation surrounding other possible management material such as Paul Simpson and Jim Gannon is ongoing.
