'Pool Swoop For Left Back

Blackpool have today signed left back Ian Harte on a month-to-month basis.

Best known for his freekick taking, the former Leeds United man played 64 times for his country, Republic of Ireland, and has plyed his trade mainly in the Premiership throughout his career, and also enjoying European experience in the UEFA Cup and Champions league.

He was signed by Roy Keane last summer at Sunderland, but has been deemed surplus to requirements at the Stadium of Light and signs at Bloomfield Road for the foreesable future.

The fullback has had an injury plagued last couple of seasons since he left Leeds United in 2004, starting just 26 games between then and now. The 31 year old had spent his entire career at Elland Road until his move to Levante.
