Problem position: Left back

It`s been a problem position for Blackpool for many years. Last season we appeared to have found a solution to the left back slot - Stephen Crainey.

The Scot was a virtual ever-present throughout the season before injury curtailed his year in April. Since then Crainey has been on the sidelines and it will be January before we see him back.

So far this season we`ve had Mo Camara, Danny Coid and Joe Martin filling in for Crainey.

I think all three have done solid jobs at full back. The on loan Camara made that spot his own before returning to his parent club Derby last month. Coid looked to be settling into the left back berth but after a few weeks the injury jinx struck again and forced Coidy out. And so the baton has since passed on to Joe Martin. He has started the last four games and has increasingly looked the part.

And that is reflected in your votes on this week`s poll. 54 per cent of you think Martin is our best option at left back in Crainey`s absence. Danny Coid, who had a lead in the poll before the Reading game, picked up 29 per cent of the vote.

With suspensions on the horizon for Hendrie and Evatt , changes will be made for Saturday`s trip to Nottingham Forest. Shaun Barker may find himself in the centre of defence to cover for Evatt which would leave Danny Coid to fill in at right back.
