'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Blackpool Blog

On the pitch:
Pool succumbed to their third home defeat of the season yesterday as a David Norris goal earned the points for Ipswich.
The Tangerines didn't get going all afternoon and the display was representative of the weather - dull and dreary.

Off the pitch:
Danny Coid picked up another injury which forced him to miss the Ipswich game. Coidy had previosuly started four successive games before his injury jinx struck again. Let's hope for Danny's sake it's not a serious one.

Derby sell out:
Next Sunday's derby against Preston at Bloomfield Road is now sold out. The 1pm kick-off will be the first home game Pool have sold out for this season.

Cardiff date for youngsters:
Blackpool's youth team face a trip to Wales to take on Cardiff City in the third round of the FA Youth cup. The game will be played before December 13.

Best thread on forum:
This week's plaudits go to our Ed, Toronto_pool for giving Adam Hammill a bit of praise for his impact in yesterday's game. Also, the idea of moving David Vaughan, who has been pretty quiet of late, inside to the centre of midfield is an interesting one.

Finally, to all the doom and gloom merchants, Blackpool have failed to turn up twice this season - at Burnley and yesterday. Let's not forget the wins against Derby, Birmingham and Watford. We didn't turn into a bad team overnight. Next Sunday's derby is the perfect chance to put to bed the disappointment of the Ipswich defeat.

Good to see Marcus Bean in action for Brentford in their win against Havant and Waterlooville today. The Bees also had John Halls playing at right back. Judging by his display I'm glad we didn't offer him a deal at Bloomers when he was on trial during the summer.
