Vaughan in Wales Squad

David Vaughan has been recalled to the Wales squad for their World Cup qualifiers.

John Toshack has moved to recall the former Crewe midfielder, who has made 14 appearances for the national side.

However it does seem unlikely that the 25 year old will get a chance to play - with Joe Ledley almost certain to start on the left hand side of midfield.

Competition in the middle of the park is fierce too. Jason Koumas, David Edwards and Carl Fletcher are all in contention to start the game against Liechtenstein on October 11 at the Millennium Stadium.

Wales then travel to Germany to face Jochiam Low's team on the Wednesday, and could play a five man midfield, which may open the door for Vaughan.

Meanwhile Blackpool centre back Rob Edwards has again been overlooked by Wales, but might find himself a little unfortunate with the lack of defensive quality they possess.
