'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Welsh heading for Town

Welsh, previously of Sunderland and Toronto FC (from MLS in the USA), played in 21 of Blackpool's Championship games last season, mostly coming off the bench as a replacement for Gary Taylor-Fletcher, before he was released over the summer by manager Simon Grayson as part of a major overhaul of the first team squad.

Town manager Russell Slade revealed the news to the Somerset press; 'We've verbally agreed terms. Two other clubs dearly wanted him so I hope he hasn't changed his mind.'

He is set to undergo a medical at Huish Park tomorrow (Thursday) ahead of signing a contract with the side that 'Pool won promotion to The Championship against back in May 2007.
