Pessimistic Pool fans

The revolving door in and out of Bloomfield Road coupled with a dodgy start has led to a pessimistic outlook from most Pool fans voting in our poll.

Heading into our third Championship game this weekend expectations for the season have dipped considerably from a month ago.

As pre-season action got underway your votes showed confidence in the Pool squad with the majority of fans predicting a mid-table finish.

But a succession of events have turned those optimists into pessimists as now 33% of you reckon Pool are heading for the bottom three and relegation.

Obviously the departures of Wes Hoolahan and Kaspars Gorkss, key players from last season, have affected fans confidence in the team. That coupled with a lack of goals and wins during pre-season continuing into the season proper has meant fans have had to revise their expectations this year. Oh and don't forget a host of injuries to key personnel such as Stephen Crainey and Shaun Barker to deepen our concerns.

But maybe there is light at the end of the tunnel with the return of Barker imminent as well as the impressive form of Burgess and Hammill. Let's not forget we are only three games into the season and with more signings expected before the transfer deadline next Sunday the best is surely yet to come for Blackpool.

Must agree with BT 2 matches in and already the doom merchants are going down the dark path. I for one feel despite the loss of the two gold diggers we have one of the best squads for a long time, although another Striker would not go a miss. Roll on the next match. Now if its still bad at Christmas well thats another day..

Agree that it's still early days bl, but I do question some of Larry's team selection. 4-5-1 just doesn't work - never has and never will, unless you have real quality attacking midfielders who know how they are supposed to play the system. IMO Danny Mitchley should have been given an opportunity by now - at least from the bench.
