Macca's last stand

McGregor contacted Sky Sports to help hi find a new club after his release from Port Vale in the summer.

His search has taken him North of the border to Scottish Premier league outfit Hamilton Academical. McGregor played in Hamilton's friendly win over Queen's Park last weekend and he will be hoping his has done enough to secure a contract with the club.

Macca was a great servant to Blackpool during what was a tough time for the club as we battled to avoid relegation under Colin Hendry. McGregor captained the side several times during his 62 appearances for Pool. He was always a whole-hearted and committed defender during his stay at Bloomfield Road.

He left the seaside for Port Vale in 2006 and spent two seasons at Vale Park before being released following the club's relegation to League Two last season.

I am sure all Pool fans would like to see Macca fixed up with a new club so good luck Mark!

Meanwhile staying North of the border and Arnau Reira has signed for Falkirk on a season-long loan. The midfielder, who was on trial with Blackpool last week and only left the club because he claimed he wanted to move back to Spain, was on loan at Falkirk last season too.
