Skonto sink Seasiders

Having relied on a last-gasp header from a trialist to earn a draw against FK Jurmala yesterday things took a turn for the worse for Pool.

This afternoon Skonto Riga, who sit second in the Latvian Championship, thrashed Pool 4-0. Seaside striker Steve McPhee, who started up front alongside new signing Steve Kabba, was sent off making it an afternoon to forget for Pool.

Blackpool suffered a similiar result in last year's trip to Latvia. A 4-1 reverse at the hands of Skonto last year suggests Pool more than met their match once more.

The squad return home to the North West tomorrow ahead of their next pre-season game at Wrexham on Saturday. It is to be hoped the team's performances and results pick up as pre-season continues.
