Arnau Riera another triallist

Simon Grayson confirmed that Arnau Riera is currently on a week long trial from Sunderland. The 26 year-old from Spain only made one appearance for Sunderland after being signed by Niall Quinn, that one appearance he was sent off after two minuets.

A central midfielder Riera started his career at Mallorca, moved onto Barcelona B and signed for Sunderland in 2006. He has had some Championship experience with a loan spell in 2006 with Southend (2 appearances) and an extended period at Falkirk last season (19 appearances and 1 goal).

With only a year remaining on his contract at the Stadium of Light Riera will be hoping to seal a contract from the weeks training. It does sound like a positive move but still nothing on a striker!
