The Wright man for the job?

The paper down the road, the LEP, (the paper for Lesser Educated People) speculated today that former Southampton defender / midfielder Jermaine Wright is in talks with Blackpool to a view to a move. Wright, 32, is looking for a new club after being released from Southampton where he was involved in 37 games last season.

The Greenwich born player had two seasons at St Mary`s after signing from Leeds in 2006. He`s know for time at Ipswich, notching up 184 appearances from 1999 to 2004, he was bought for £5000,000 from Wolves as a replacement for the departing Kieron Dyer...

With the possible exit of Kaspars Gorkss it looks like a good signing with Wright`s ability to play at the back and experience.

In other news after Paul Dickov was released by Manchester City this week Toronto FC have shown an interest in the Scot. Toronto manager Mo Johnston will fight for his signing and if Dickov did sign his striking partner would be 6.3 Danny Dichio, only in the MLS.
