Dickov move one step closer

Dickov a City legend was released today with 9 other players, three of them first team players Geovanni, Emile Mpenza and Jihai Sun. Dickov at 35 was a sensation at Bloomers towards the end of the season and apparently has had offered from abroad including the US, Canada and Australia.

Pool`s offer is a one year player/coach deal and today`s news with him becoming a free agent means he`s one step closer to signing with a club. If signing he would be the fourth recognized striker at the club with Ben Burgess, Stephen McPhee and Andy Morrell.

For some a fifth out-and-out striker is required. With clubs in the division signing million pound plus strikers (Paterson - Burnley last month) we are still way behind the competition in the striking department. Names such as Bishop (Bury), Job and even Kevin Phillips! have been touted around on the very popular transfer rumor thread but there has been nothing concrete from the club yet!
