Jacko the Shrew

The League Two side completed the double swoop of former Pool players earlier today. Jackson, Pool's skipper for the past two years has signed a two year deal at Shrewsbury. Holt has agreed a three year contract with Town for a fee of £170,000.

Jacko made over 70 appearances for Pool and lifted the Play-off trophy at Wembley last year as Pool won promotion to the Championship. The defender played more than 30 times for the Seasiders in the Championship last season but was released by Simon Grayson last month.

Grant Holt joined Blackpool on loan from Nottingham Forest in March. But the striker could only manage four substitute appearances for Pool in the run-in. Holt was pushed further down the pecking order at newly promoted Forest with the arrival of Rob Earnshaw from Derby.

Former Blackpool favourite Paul Simpson is the man in charge at Shrewsbury.

All at Blackpool Vital would like to wish Michael Jackson all the best at his new club and thank him for some great memories in a Pool shirt.

If you like a bet I think Shrewsbury are making some very shrew'd (get it) signings this summer. They must be spending the extra cash they got from Joe Hart playing for England.

I think Shresbury will do what they seem to do most seasons dazza, make what appear to be good signings start well, and end up in a relegation battle.
