Preston Want To Land Gorkss?!

News coming from the national press this morning and late last night are linking Blackpool central defender Kaspars Gorkss with a move to bitter Lancashire rivals, Preston.

Of course, this is all just paper talk, but is there any substance to such stories?

Alan Irvine is looking to land the Latvian international at the end of the season for a mere £250K from the Seasiders, which triggers a release clause in Gorkss' contract.

It is fairly obvious why Irvine wants Kaspars; looking at the Latvians strengths and the weaknesses of Chilvers, Mawene and St.Ledger, who would you want?!

It is now public knowledge that Neil Warnock wants to take Wes Hoolahan and Gorkss to Crystal Palace as well, and (if we do stay up this year) it is imperative we keep our best players for next year, otherwise Oyston's model of Colchester United could come true…
