Blackpool Sign Grant Holt

Nottingham Forest striker Grant Holt has signed on loan at Bloomfield Road until the end of the season.

The 26 year-old, former Rochdale front man, was in training ahead of Saturday's clash with Stoke City alongside Paul Dickov, who also trained ahead of the game. Notably, the pair trained together: a possible inclination about the starting two on Saturday?

On the signing, manager Simon Grayson said: 'it was the right time to bring another body in and we've got to make sure we're covered when the window shuts.'

Speaking of Holt's desire, the gaffer stated that Grant was 'desperate to come and keen to prove himself.'

Holt himself spoke about the move, and spoke about the move: 'I'm looking forward at the opportunity to play at this level and showing what I can do.'

The former Sheffield Wednesday man also said about the faith Simon Grayson has in him, which is a stark contrast to Colin Calderwood at The City Ground.

Holt would not be drawn on any permanent move to Blackpool in the summer.

Championship joint leaders Bristol City agreed a fee before a permanent move broke down (at the Nottingham end) with Forest for Holt in the summer, so he obviously is quite a capture for The Seasiders.

Good coup, will add to your attacking force.

I spoke to the man in question today and he seemed delighted at the chance to prove himself. Good luck Holty!

Been hopeless for Forest, so you're welcome to him! To be fair, he hasn't had much of a look in and has often been played out of position, but still don't rate him. Spends most of the game going down under the lightest of touches which I personally hate to see. No doubt he'll do great for you though - bit like Marlon King when he went to Watford!
