How many more wins for survival?

The results suggest that most fans reckon five more wins will see the Seasiders safe this season. Looking at the remaining thirteen fixtures another five wins looks to be well within reach for the Mighty.

Take the home games for instance. After Charlton on Saturday we play Barnsley, Southampton, Preston and Sheffield Wednesday who are all currently below us. As well as that we still have to welcome West Brom and Watford to Bloomfield Road.

Away from the seaside things loook much more difficult for Larry and co. Trips to Norwich, QPR, Stoke, Crystal Palace, Cardiff and Plymouth seem more than just a little tricky. But I expect Pool to pull off at least one more away win.

If it is to be five more wins needed for our Championship status to be secured I have every confidence that Pool will be home and dry by mid - April, allowing us to relax in the final three games - and maybe give scoring sensation Danny Mitchley a run out.

Of course things rarely pan out so perfectly and the teams below Pool may yet stage a remarkable turnaround in form. If this turns out to be the case, the 10% of fans who thought Pool would need a further seven wins for safety might not be too far off the mark. Here's hoping that doesn't we don't have to go down that road.

Ultimately if you had offered most Pool fans 15th position in the table at this stage of the season, they would have gladly taken it. Let's hope we can better that and finish in the top twelve.

This week we ask you for your preferred central midfield combination. Get voting!

Agree, and at least 4 more wins if not, lol..

As long as we stay up, AND its above them from Dumpdale, it dosen't really matter. That said, top 12 would be something to be VERY proud of. 5 plus wins will be more than ample.
