West Stand expansion

West Stand expansion

The on going saga of the lack of a South Stand continues with no start date confirmed. Further annoyed by the progress of the new hotel on the old Tangerine Club it`s rather annoying to see no progress in the building of a new South Stand at Bloomers.

Some fans may have noticed at yesterdays win two additions to Bloomfield Road. First of all behind the South Stand goal new wooden posts going up which appears to be preparation for a new fence. The current metal fence is / has been falling down, is this new fence in preparation for work to start on the south? Or does the Number 1 club need to come down first before building work starts?

Meanwhile in the West Stand, the exit at the top of the stand at the south side has been boarded up with scaffolding to create a new area of seating.

If done on the other side of the press area where there is an exit it could mean expanding the capacity of Bloomfield Road by 50 ish?

Thanks for that JC. Does that mean the 100 without seats are now sorted?

I noticed the people sat behind/on the gantry on Saturday, and also against Ipswich I believe. I just thought they were guests on seats that you may see in the sponsor's lounge? The chants were funny though, admittedly. Especially as we went 1-0 up as they were chanting "2 stands!" and replied with "2 stands, and we're 1-0 up.."

maybe another tier on top of the east, so that when the people on top drop through, they will just land on the people below?

Blackpool extended their unbeaten run to four games after picking up an impressive three points against promotion hopefuls Gillingham.
