Vernon leaves Blackpool

Scott Vernon is leaving Bloomfield Road, having joined Colchester United on a permanent basis for an undisclosed fee believed to be £100k.

The deal was finalised seconds before Thursday's midnight transfer deadline, and ratified by the Football authorities late on Friday afternoon.

Scott goes straight into the U's squad for their clash with Sheffield United on Saturday.

I have a horrible feeling that selling him will come back to haunt us. Good player who deserved more of a chance here. Best of luck to him.

A bit of a shock but he was always just a nearly man this season but saying that he was our nearly man. BEST OF LUCK Scott and lets hope he does not come back to haunt us..

I dont think we should have sold him. He is a natural goal scorer. He has never been given a chance. I hope he does wwell.
