Vernon Out of Blackpool?

Reports coming from Colchester United seem to indicate that Blackpool striker Scott Vernon is to leave Bloomfield Road to join The U`s - if 'Pool can get a replacement in.

Whilst speaking with The Colchester Gazette, the former Oldham Athletic man gave a 'come and get me' plea to United boss Geraint Williams, and he looks set to make a bid to take Vernon to Layer Road.

Scott - who scored both goals in a 2-0 win at Colchester last month, and who many consider the best finisher at the club - said: 'I've heard rumours that Colchester have been looking at me again, but they are only rumours. I've heard nothing concrete from them and my manager at Blackpool (Simon Grayson) hasn't said anything. If anything is going to happen on that score, we've only got today to sort it out so everyone will have to move quickly.'

Following reports, it now looks like Williams will make a bid, and plans to go late on into the night if need be, after assistant manager Kit Symons stated that: 'I've not got any plans to go home tonight so if it's a late one then we're all ready to be here, as long as it's the right thing for the football club.'

Sounds promising, he certainly is a great finisher.

I'll be gutted if he goes.

Abel so will I. SG has not given him a chance. He has sat in the sidelined not moaning like Parker and doing the business when called apon. Bloody shame for him. I hope he does move as Larry has no confidence in him.
