'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Where are they now?

Robbie "Let me entertain you" Williams began his career at Oakwell where he spent 4 years playing for Barnsley. In early 2007 Simon Grayson brought Robbie on loan to Blackpool to fill in at left back. When he first arrived who would have thought that he would end up going down in Pool folklore for his goal scoring!

Williams made his debut at Bradford in March and promptly scored inside the first 10 minutes of his debut, heading home a corner to help Pool to a 3 - 1 win.

A week later and Robbie was on the score sheet again, this time with a lovely free kick in the home win over Crewe. The left back went on to score at Huddersfield and Cheltenham in further away wins for the Pool as we moved through the gears in The Perfect Ten.

Undoubtedly Robbie`s finest moment in his brief Pool career was the sensational free kick he scored at Wembley in the Play Off Final triumph over Yeovil.

Williams scored an amazing 5 goals in his 12 starts in Tangerine and became the greatest goal scoring left back in the world! His trademark free kicks, which accounted for 3 of his goals, were more spectacular than Becks and Roberto Carlos.

Although Grayson tried to secure Williams on a permanent deal in the summer the defender eventually signed for League 1 Huddersfield Town, returning to his native Yorkshire.
Williams notched his first goal for his new club in last week`s draw at Brighton. And guess what - it was another of those Robbie free kick specials!
I am sure all Pool fans would like to thank Robbie for his contribution to our glorious promotion last season and wish him every success for the future.
