Forbes Leaves Blackpool

Well, that was all very sudden wasn't it?! Blackpool winger Adrian Forbes has today signed an 18 month contract with League One strugglers Millwall, just hours after news broke that he was in London.

In other news, on loan striker Bart Slusarski has had his loan from West Brom extended by a month. The front man - who Tony Mowbray signed for £750K in the summer - was primarily here to gain fitness and get match practice, and that is exactly what he`s looked like really - a player coming back from injury. Maybe in the next month (providing we don`t sign any strikers, which I find hard to believe) he will show us all what he can really do.

Going back to Forbes, the former Swansea man has made just three appearances in tangerine this season before making his switch to The New Den, and last played for The Seasiders in the 1-0 home defeat against Cardiff, where he came on as a substitute.

In the summer, Forbes was widely tipped to join League One Gillingham, but that move never materialised. However, it was only a matter of time before he left Bloomfield Road after falling out of favour pre season.

In his 36 appearances for the 'Pool, Forbes' performances were up and down throughout, and he was never really consistent enough to hold down a regular place this season, as Gary Taylor-Fletcher came in from Huddersfield Town.

The only goal Forbes scored was at home last year against a poor Bournemouth side, as Blackpool ran out 2-0 winners in a relatively easy game. He also put in a decent showing, and scored a penalty, in our cup scalp (albeit not a huge one) away at Derby in the League Cup back in August.

Adrian's best couple of games came - when it mattered - in the playoffs with two fantastic performances against Oldham (Semis) and Yeovil (final), and for that, he should always be remembered by the fans at Bloomfield Road.

Public misgivings towards the manager in the press hardly helped his cause, and although loved by the fans for his attitude, once he moaned in The Gazette about being subbed in a game, he was never going to stay all that long.

When we signed him last season, Swansea fans came onto this website and said that he hasn't got great skill, but is a 100% player, and that we'd love him; I suppose they got it spot on!

Good luck Forbesy, one of the perfect ten.
