'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Where are they now?

Mark McGregor was, and almost certainly still is, a whole hearted, solid defender, who was always a model pro in his time at Bloomfield Road. In that respect Pool`s former skipper can be compared to our current Captain Michael Jackson - 110% every game, wearing his heart on his sleeve.

Macca spent six seasons with Wrexham before he moved to Turd Moor in 2001. After several years playing in the claret and blue Mark was snapped up by then Pool boss Colin Hendry in 2004 - arguably one of the Scots` best signings.

McGregor soon became a regular at centre half or right back and was made club captain after his consistent solid displays in a struggling team.

Mark made over 60 appearances in Tangerine, scoring just the once in an LDV trophy win over Wrexham.

In January 2006 McGregor signed for Port Vale after falling out of favour at Pool. Macca quickly established himself as a regular at Vale Park and this season completed his half century of appearances for the League One strugglers.

Somewhat surprisingly Mark is still only 30 years old (it seems like he has been around forever) and he should have a few years` left in league football.

Macca was a great servant to Blackpool and even in those dark days of the Hendry reign he always stood out as being Mr. Reliable and dependable. All the best for the future Mark!

Ahhh Macca and his 50p headers...going anywhere and everywhere! Good times. I rated him, muchlike I rated Rob Clare in his time here but it just wasn't to be. It seems so long ago that he was here and scoring that goal in front of the Kop. Bloody hell!

A wholehearted player certainly. But sadly not even a good league one player for us!
