Foot In Both Camps - Trevor Sinclair

Trevor Lloyd Sinclair began his career at Blackpool, where he found success as the strike partner for Dave Bamber. After 112 league appearances in 4 seasons a transfer fee of £600,000 secured his services for Queens Park Rangers.

In 1997 he won the BBC's Match of the Day 'Goal of the Season' competition with an overhead scissors-kick in an FA Cup tie against Barnsley.

A year later after 168 appearances and 16 goals Trevor moved on again. This time to West Ham United for a fee of £2.3m. His 5 1/2 years at Upton Park were to prove his most productive with 37 goals scored in 177 League appearances.

While at West Ham Trevor made 12 appearances for England, most notably at the 2002 World Cup, in which he was a last minute replacement for the injured Danny Murphy. In turn he replaced Owen Hargreaves, who was injured early in the tournament, in the team and was widely regarded as one of England's better players in the competition.

In 2003 he signed for Manchester City for £2.5m. Unfortunately his career there was disrupted by injury and in July 2007 after only 82 games and 5 goals Trevor joined Cardiff City on a free transfer.
