'If It's Football, It's Vital'

The Vital View

Forum member, Bollieboy gives us his thoughts on Saturday's win against Doncaster Rovers.

At about 4.30pm today if you had offered me a draw I would have taken it - shows what I know.

Well the Tangerine juggernaut motors on and what looked a difficult game (a must not lose game in my opinion) turned into a stroll for the final minutes and even allowed us to concede the customary late goal without breaking into a mass outbreak of fingernail chewing.

Despite the conditions we played some decent football in the first half without quite finding the final ball - though Morrell managed to make a hash of the one clear-cut chance. In the second half Donny changed it around and matched us 4-4-2 and this made it a more equal game. In fact the first goal (and what a wonderful piece of work from Wes it was) came at a time when it looked like Donny were getting on top.

Scottie showed us once again what a natural finisher he is with 2 well taken goals. I thought Claus had a steady game and played some nice ball - personally I do prefer him to Forbesy. Only player who I felt was a bit off the pace today was Morrell and the maybe a case for him being given a rest on Monday and allowing Scottie a start.

I could see why Donny have put a run together but thought we just have the extra bit of quality with the likes of Keigan and Wes that will break down most defences in this league.

The other results did go as well for us as I would have hoped but all we can do is keep on getting the results as we have and we will be close to an automatic spot before too long. Roll on Monday and hopefully we will lay another hoodoo with a win at Chestergate. Fingers crossed for a dry day !
