A new feature for the site is that of a table, based on refereeing performances involving Blackpool Football Club.
What do we aim to get out of this?
Well, the aim of this new feature is to allow Blackpool fans in the future to prejudge a referee before he referees the mighty. Okay, that doesn`t sound a good idea, does it? Well in truth, this feature is to give fans in the future a chance to look up how well or badly the said referee has performed for us in the past.
For example:
-Next season when this feature will properly kick in, referee x is taking charge of our game at home to Cardiff.
-Referee x took charge of three Blackpool games last season, with an average rating of 1 out of 5. Seasiders` fans will then expect the said referee to perform poorly, and won`t be surprised when we lose 5-0 and have 6 men sent off!
-Likewise, if a referee has performed well in the past, fans can expect a good game from him.
How do we gauge how well a referee has performed?
This will be done on a point system. After each game, you, the fans, will give the referee a mark out of five. All the marks will be averaged out to give him his score.
What do you do?
All you have to do is give each referee a mark out of five (the referee only, we aren't taking linesmen into consideration).
I urge all members of BlackpoolVital to help us compile a decent table and mark each referee out of five after each game they watch. You can mark each week under a thread at the top of the forum called "Men In Black".
When will this feature take full effect?
I am not sure when this feature will take full effect, as obviously we have different referees every week, but as we get into next season (depending what league we`re in) you should see some referees having reffed several Pool games, showing an accurate score on our table.
When will this start?
I plan to get this off and running tomorrow, with referee K Wright officiating our crunch game against Doncaster Rovers at Bloomfield Road.
That Is All
If you have any queries about this new feature, as it has the potential to be confusing, don`t hesitate to either ask a question under this article, email me or send me a personal message.
