'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Scunthorpe 1 - 3 Blackpool

Friday night is never a good night for a football match in my opinion but, for tonight anyway, who cares...

Blackpool faced up against stiff opposition in the form of 2nd place League One side Scunthorpe United - complete with former 'Pool loan signing Ian Morris in the starting line-up.

'Pool were put 1-0 up by Andy Morrell on 27 minutes when he squeezed home a shot at the near post.

Their lead was doubled on 58 minutes after Keigan Parker was tripped in the box by the Scunny 'keeper and Wes Hoolahan placed the ball into the bottom right hand corner of the goal from the penalty spot.

Not long after, Wes Hoolahan was sent off for a second yellow card but 'Pool put the tie beyond doubt with a further goal from Keigan Parker before Scunthorpe grabbed a consolation goal from a header by Ian Baraclough.

Full match report to follow...
