'If It's Football, It's Vital'

A Timely Reminder I Suppose...

Southend United have today announced that Blackpool's captain, Peter Clarke will be joining the club. But, the deal has yet to be agreed, apparently. Southend released details of the deal, believed to consist of an undisclosed fee and a three year contract for Clarke earlier this morning, but BFC secretary Matt Williams moved quickly to remove this statement.

I myself have just phoned the Southend United secretary to get a comment on the deal and the reply was 'We at SUFC have no comment whatsoever to make on any deal regarding Peter Clarke at the moment.' That sounds like a nailed on signing to me.

This is all a timely reminder that BFC may not be in an advantaged position at all, even after Valery Belokon's cash injection. Are we being spun lies???

We'll have more when we get it.

i take it gutted isnt the word???? like you said if you have just had a cash injection why sell your club captain and one of your best players? Gutted for ya!!!
laticscarl
Gutted is not the word here. But, if the club can replace him and the rest of the squad come together, things will be looking up. Anyone remember when we sold Alan Wright. Massive hoo haa but he was only bettering himself, and you cant blame anybody for that. See you in the Prem in a few years Clarky

Disappointed is an understatement! It speaks volumes about the ambitions of the club, or lack of it. It would appear that nothing has changed, and the reason for that is the Oystons are still here!

As an oldham fan hence somewhat neutral view I cant see the sense in either blackpool wanting or needing to sell after a cash injection, or clarke wanting to move to a team that in all likelyhood could be playing in league 1 again come august 2007.

Gutted, all the best Clarkie
bfcluke
Simple - Clarkey was offerered same terms by BFC as Southend but he wants to play Championship footy - good luck Clarkey and thanks for all you did for BFC
