Wood signs for Latics

Wood spent the start of pre-season at Bloomfield Road but was unable to agree terms to stay at the club.

He then spent time at Oldham making three friendly appearances enough to earn the former Manchester United player a two year contract.

Wood revealed to Oldham's official website that he rejected Blackpool's offer but was delighted to sign for the Latics.

Simon Grayson was hoping to sign Wood to complete his midfield but still has hopes of signing a 'creative' midfielder as well as a striker before the season opener against Brentford.

what do you make of this guy, is he any good? apparently he really impressed for us in pre season. Is scott vernon still with you guys?
laticscarl
Yes Vernon is still with Blackpool and according to the club not going to be leaving for anywhere any time soon. Despite interest from Bournemouth. He has had a decent pre-season. Wood is a good player.

Not over concerned. Thought he was ok, but think Larry is right refusing to be held to ransom.
