Tangerine Tournament 2006

With the season about start we could think of no better way to celebrate the kick off then with a kick off of our own. On Saturday 29th July at 12:00 (teams to arrive @ 11:30to register) at Stanley Park Astro turf pitches the first ever Annual Tangerine Tournament will be held.

The tournament has been arranged by the editors of www.tangerine-planet.co.uk and www.blackpool.vitalfootball.co.uk John Campbell, Toronto and Rocky have been working closely to arrange the tournament. Proving that Blackpool fans can work together to produce something positive.

The tournament will consist of 8 teams in 2 leagues of 4. The top two teams will then go on to play in The Winners Cup semis and then a final. And the bottom two teams will play in The Plate semi and a final.

The winner of the top half will win a cup and the winners of the bottom have will receive a plate. There will also be a trophy for the tournament's top goal scorer.

his means that each team will play at least 3 league games and a semi match. The tournament schedule, playing times and rules can be downloaded at the link below.

At the moment there are seven team signed up. There is only 1 place left and we've had some interest already.

There is a 25 pound fee for each team; a team may have a minimum of 5 players and a maximum of 8 players. The money raised will be donated to the Blackpool Football Club School of Excellence. So further donations and sponsorship is welcomed. Why not get friends and family to sponsor your team?

To enter a team all you have to do is e-mail tangerinetournament@hotmail.co.uk, with a team name, captain's name and a contact number. We'll be working on a first-come-first-serve basis so get your entries in quick.
