Take a leaf out of Martin Lewis's book. My Hero.

Season tickets are usually discounted if you buy early. Buy early and get the discount. That does not mean you have to pay for it early.

Last season I bought my season ticket early and enjoyed the discount, but I bought it on a 10 month interest free credit card, personaly I had the money but left it earning 5% interest (now 4.5%).

I paid the min payment, which was a small amount and paid the card off just before the 10 months. I then cancelled the card.

If you have not got the capital available to pay the card off in 10 month's time just pay a tenth of the season ticket every month. This way you can benefit from the discount, help the club with finances during the closed season and pay you ticket off in instalments.

Warning.... Don’t go into this method unless you understand it and stick with the payment terms. It's on your own back.

Make sure you cancel the credit card as if you go for another on the old one will be logged and you may not get further credit with another lender.
