'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Phew !!

There were three games played, Colchester took on Hartlepool, Saturday’s opponents Swansea played Swindon and Walsall hosted Bournemouth.

At Layer Road the two sides remained tied until 58 minutes when Darren Williams picked up two bookings in as many minutes. With the one man advantage former Pool loan man Neil Danns struck in the 82nd and 90th minute to secure a home win for the U's. For us a great result for us leaving Hartlepool in 21st place.

Down in south Wales, Swindon took the lead through Ricky Shakes on 61, but goals from Andy Robinson and Adrian Forbes on 71 and 78 respectively gave the Swans all three points. Once again a good result for us.

In the third and final game tonight in League One featured two sides at the bottom of the league who fought it out at the Bescot. An early goal from James Hayter gave his side, Bournemouth, the victory over Walsall. Really a draw would have been the perfect result for us but the win for Bournemouth was better for us than a Walsall win. The Cherries now stand on 51 points, two places above us and four points more than us.

All in all a good night for the Seasiders, two out of three isn't too bad.

Colchester 2 - 0 Hartlepool

Walsall 0 - 1 Bournemouth

Swansea 2 - 1 Swindon

Come on u pool we can do it
blackpool till i die
Personally think us beating Walsall does you more of a favour than a draw would have done.
DJ
yeah i can see what you mean, as i don't think we have much chance of catching bournemouth now,
j_campbell
i think you would have been safe now- but its your ******* pitch, its a nightmare to play football on that- hope you get it sorted. if not move your games to the beach- its a better playing surface

Not still moaning about the pitch at Blackpool surely? Don't seem to remember Bournemouth having a problem there!
DJ
thats because they play long ball- any footballing teams will struggle- its like a local park
