The Clarets took the lead in the match thanks to a Duane Courtney volley after six minutes.

Steve Davis’ side should have gone onto score a couple more but a headed goal from new loan signing Kevin Lee just before half time put the team’s level at the half time break.

After the break a goal from Sean Paterson gave the Pool’ the lead and a Paterson got his second of the match to make it 3-1 to Steve Thompson’s side.

Burnley - Alwood, Henry, Overson, Courtney, Karbassiyoon, Elliott, Spicer, Platt, O’Connor, Hanley, Lafferty (Turner 45). Subs not used: Akbar, Rodriguez, Casey, Smith.

Blackpool -Pool: Pogilacomi, Warrender, Lee, Bagdagi, Clancy, Wiles (Perry-Acton 65), Wood, Donnelly (Doran 65), Shaw, Blinkhorn (Kay 60), Paterson. Sub Not Used: Caddick, Matthews
